Raphael first heard about us through a friend from his local church. Deciding to try something new after his post-high-school travels, he did a summer internship at Kinship. Raph found Kinship to be very rewarding, both spiritually and mentally. Feeling confident that he was surrounded by good people, he decided to stay for a full year. A fun fact about Raphael is that he grew up in England for most of his life.

Nathan grew up in Iran and came to the United States for school. He studied Computer engineering there at Azad University and when he came to America, studied computer sciences at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. After volunteering at Kinship and becoming friends with other missionaries, he wanted to become more involved in the Mission Intern community. One fun fact about Nathan is that he grew up with a lot of cats (12 to be exact) but he is definitely allergic to them!

After visiting the Food Center, Elizabeth fell in love with the Kinship community and moved from a small farm town in Michigan to Milwaukee to serve alongside people that have quickly become family. In her free time, she enjoys playing any sort of a sport or card game!

Jack joins us from Cincinnati, Ohio after graduating from Otterbein University with a BA in Theatre. He is excited to jump right into this community through sharing conversations over food at the Center and at Feast Meals. When he’s not at work Jack enjoys making music, tap dancing, and reading British children’s literature.

He spent the summer working at our Urban Farm and decided to stay a full year to see how else he could grow alongside others. When he is not at work he enjoys woodworking, reading, gardening, and planning D& D campaigns.

Mary has wanted to do missionary work for most of her life. Finding Kinship through a service trip (and the recommendation of her older brother) she knew this is where she wanted to be. Mary recently graduated from UW Eau Claire with a bachelor’s in business. When Mary is not working, she loves to do pottery, go to farmers markets, and thrift!

After talking with a friend who served at Kinship, Mary was really drawn to our work and our mission. She studied finance and Spanish at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and is looking forward to developing her relationship with God and others.
