Food has the power to bring us into community and community changes our lives.
Form is a service-based training program for volunteers and neighborhood residents in spiritual formation, social justice, and civic action.
“If you have curiosity about the breadth of the human spirit, come here and witness for yourself how hope and love can still conquer even the harshest realities.”
Fred has been part of our mission for many years which empowers volunteers to become mentors and leaders of generosity.
What we do:
Our Approach to Service Prioritizes…
Invitations to Encounter
Design a service experience that encourages personal growth and challenges notions of “giver” and “receiver”
Provide volunteer tasks and activities to encourage building of trusting relationships
Guide participant engagement with reflection before and after to contextualize service
Deeper Personal Formation
Train churches, businesses, and schools on food advocacy and the root causes of hunger and inequality
Offer a spiritual formation and personal development training curriculum founded on principles of Catholic Social Teaching
Set times for reflection and prayer for participants to encounter God and deepen knowledge of their own dignity and worth
Leading through Generosity
Recruit shoppers and volunteers to become leaders in operations and community events
Invite mission interns, neighborhood residents, volunteers, and organizations to take neighborhood ownership through civic action
Model hospitality, simplicity, and solidarity through residential intentional community and neighborhood events
Connect volunteer leaders to partners in racial justice, spiritual growth, and civic action
