We live, serve, and pray together so that our work is filled with love. Come join us.
Kinship Community Food Center is a nonprofit in Milwaukee, WI that works with the urban poor. In our community, we focus on using food as an entry point to encounter others so that we may discover that no matter our differences, we still belong to one another.
Our mission interns dedicate themselves to living in this Community of Generosity for a summer or year in our mission internship program. They create loving, close relationships with one another and within our community, so that they may bring the culture of kinship with them for the rest of their lives.
Welcome to a Year of Service in the Heart of Milwaukee

WHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE
-
We cultivate silence to encounter God and more deeply encounter each other. This is punctuated by Adoration, Liturgy of the Hours, Mass, readings from Scripture, and the lives of the saints.
-
We are committed to intentionally living and working with one another in a community, in the heart of the neighborhood we serve, so that the care we have for each other flows into the larger community.
-
We discuss our experiences throughout the year to foster growth in our spiritual and personal lives. Together, we consider what keeps us from mutuality and what enables us to exist in mutual love more fully.
-
We walk with those in our community through relationship-building, mentoring, advocacy, hospitality, and other opportunities. We also develop nonprofit management skills in day-to-day Community Food Center operations.
