Balsamic Vinaigrette

Source: Caitlin Cullen

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar

  • 2 Tbsp real maple syrup (or brown sugar)

  • 1 Tbsp sherry vinegar (optional)

  • 2 Tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 2 large pinches of salt

  • 1 large pinch black pepper

  • 3 Tbsp neutral oil (e.g., canola, grapeseed, sunflower)

Number of Servings: 12

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together salt and pepper, maple syrup, and Dijon.

  2. Add the balsamic vinegar and sherry vinegar (opt). Whisk in thoroughly.

  3. Taste for salt and add as needed.

  4. Whisk in a drizzle of oil. You want to pour slowly so the oil and Dijon mix evenly, until it appears smooth and there is no oily layer on top.

Try something new and add 1 or more of these!

  • Use this dressing on your favorite salad! It pairs well with spinach & strawberry salads, and so much more.

  • Add fresh lemon or lime juice if you have some on hand! You can add this instead of sherry vinegar.
