Julie

As an art teacher, Julie was looking for a volunteering opportunity to fill her time in the summer. After finding out about the food center garden in a church bulletin, she started volunteering regularly to help with the production of our produce and hasn’t been able to stop! Though her passion lies in gardening, she has been surprised by the deep friendships she has made with those around her.

“I have developed a great group of friends from working on the gardens and farm. We help each other not only there at the garden, but in other ways by sharing resources, ideas, laughter, food, fun, and sometimes sadness. The women who have volunteered regularly with me have become very close and I can't see myself volunteering without them.”
